Overview

Aquia is a digital services firm specializing in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance automation for the U.S. government. They are seeking a Front-End Engineer to modernize digital forms used for non-disability benefits for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain React-based user interfaces for VA.gov forms.
• Build accessible, Section 508- and WCAG-compliant interfaces.
• Create modular, reusable components within the VA.gov design system.
• Collaborate with designers to implement Figma mockups.
• Integrate frontend logic with RESTful APIs.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and improve based on feedback.
• Troubleshoot UI bugs and ensure functionality across devices.
• Follow GitHub workflows and support CI/CD integration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of front-end development experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience developing accessible interfaces meeting Section 508 and WCAG 2.1+ standards.
• Familiarity with responsive design and assistive technologies.
• Experience with state management tools and frontend optimization.
• Comfortable working within agile teams.
• Proficiency with GitHub, Figma, and CI/CD practices.
