Overview

Join the CrowdGen team as an Independent Contractor for Project Babel. We are seeking detail-oriented and skilled annotators to support the evaluation and improvement of multilingual prompt-response data used in the training and assessment of large language models (LLMs). Your role will directly contribute to ensuring translations are accurate, contextually appropriate, and aligned with AI safety and ethical standards.

In Short

• Evaluate translations by reviewing English prompts and their translations.
• Rate quality using structured criteria like fluency and accuracy.
• Identify and suggest post-edits for low-rated translations.
• Follow defined annotation guidelines and evaluation protocols.
• Work collaboratively in groups or independently.
• Complete annotations using a provided CSV template.
• Ensure all work aligns with project standards.
• Contribute to building safer and more inclusive AI systems.
• Engage with adjudication rules to resolve discrepancies.
• Meet deadlines reliably.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in English and French Canadian.
• Strong understanding of grammar and cultural nuances.
• Ability to follow complex guidelines and evaluation standards.
• Prior work in translation or linguistic annotation is desirable.
• Comfortable with structured file formats and spreadsheets.
• Background in linguistics or related fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with multilingual NLP tasks or LLMs.
• Ability to work independently.
