Remote Insurance Follow-Up Representative (Medi-Cal)

Overview

A Remote Insurance Follow-Up Representative (Medi-Cal) will be responsible for all collection functions for hospital and physician services, focusing on account resolution and interaction with insurance companies.

In Short

• Provide customer service to healthcare contract customers.
• Prepare, research, and collect from Medi-Cal and various health insurance payers.
• Research remits and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accurate payments.
• Submit corrected claims or appeals as needed.
• Request adjustments when required.
• Identify items needing client assistance.
• Gather payor trends and provide feedback.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Medi-Cal experience required.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of billing guidelines for facility/physician.
• Understanding of account/claim status and appeals process.
• Familiarity with UB04 and HCFA forms.
• Excellent customer service and time management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
