Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation, one of the largest copper deposits in the world, located in the Moquegua region of southern Peru. Quellaveco is expected to have a 30-year reserve life and will utilize open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, along with molybdenum and silver as by-products. The operation aims to produce an average of 300,000 tons of copper per year during its first decade. Anglo American is committed to ensuring the success of Quellaveco through innovative practices and technologies, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and responsibility in its operations.
