Lead Protection and Control Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Lead Protection & Control Engineer works on T&D substations for AC, HVDC and FACTS projects, responsible for defining, designing, and coordinating all technical aspects of HV/EHV substation protection & control.

In Short

• Define and design protection schemes for T&D substations.
• Lead design teams for panel layouts and interconnect wiring.
• Evaluate interoperability and communication aspects of protection relays.
• Coordinate with SCADA and physical engineers for system integration.
• Review power system studies and provide technical assistance.
• Train end-users on integrated protection and control systems.
• Develop testing and outage procedures.
• Support quality initiatives and process controls.
• Participate in proposal development and technical specifications.
• Demonstrate leadership and accountability in project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in protection schemes and relay selection.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for site testing and meetings.
• P.E. License or EIT preferred.
• Strong understanding of circuit breakers and related power systems.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Experience in technical problem solving.
• Demonstrated ownership and decision-making skills.
• Passion for functional engineering roles.
