Wind Technician - Remote

Overview

The Wind Technician is responsible for maintaining optimal function and output at the wind site by performing daily turbine operations, maintenance, and safety checks.

In Short

• Execute contractual obligations and daily activities related to wind turbine operations.
• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of turbine parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Document work using computer-based service reporting.
• Collaborate with site leadership and GE’s remote operations center.
• Work in various environments including industrial and power facilities.
• Climb towers up to 300 feet as part of job duties.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call as needed.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet physical requirements.
• Participate in professional development and training.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Wind Technician or 2 years in related fields.
• Technical knowledge assessment and basic computer skills.
• Understanding of electrical schematic drawings and technical manuals.
• Ability to handle repetitive weight and climb towers.
• Experience with hydraulic power tools and heavy equipment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field preferred.
• Electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic experience desired.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to collaborate with diverse personnel.
