Overview

The Permitting Compliance Manager leads construction compliance efforts on the California High-Speed Rail Program, ensuring the accuracy of environmental compliance documentation and overseeing issue resolution.

In Short

  • Manage and oversee permitting and compliance activity planning for construction projects.
  • Develop and implement effective permitting and compliance strategies.
  • Direct the work of staff preparing permit applications.
  • Establish communication protocols for collaboration among teams.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to discuss project progress.
  • Support compliance activities and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Supervise preparation of compliance documentation.
  • Gather technical data for documentation and decision making.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Experience with high-speed rail or transit.
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory permitting in California.
  • Project management experience with design-build contracting.
  • Experience in wildlife biology or natural resources.
  • Strong knowledge of CEQA and NEPA.
