Overview

The Lead Transportation / Traffic Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the development of signing and pavement marking plans, ensuring quality control, and training junior staff in a collaborative environment.

In Short

  • Lead engineering activities for transportation projects.

  • Conduct field visits for verification of existing conditions.
  • Participate in project reviews and quality control processes.

  • Attend meetings and coordinate with diverse teams.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
  • Experience with freeway and non-freeway projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other design software.
  • Ability to obtain Michigan PE license.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with AASHTO and Michigan DOT guidelines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior staff.
