Senior Packaging Engineer - Remote

Overview

Adept Group is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to own end-to-end packaging development across various food products, leading hands-on activities and collaborating closely with multiple teams.

In Short

• Own packaging development for cereal, snack mix, cookies, and bars.
• Lead hands-on packaging activities including flexible film and pouch development.
• Conduct line trials and validation work.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Brand teams.
• Manage packaging specifications and BOMs.
• Work primarily on-site in Lebanon, IN, with remote candidates considered.
• Support new item launches and troubleshoot packaging issues.
• Document packaging processes and maintain specifications.
• Engage in supplier management and technical requirements.
• Participate in packaging trials and evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of packaging engineering experience in food CPG.
• Strong technical expertise in flexible films and packaging structures.
• Hands-on experience with lab testing and validation work.
• Ability to work independently as the sole packaging resource.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience in writing specifications and building BOMs.
• Capable of working in diverse environments: office, lab, and plant.
• Familiarity with snack or cereal packaging systems is a plus.
• Experience with supplier onboarding and technical leadership.
