Senior Site Reliability Engineer II - Remote

Overview

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer II will contribute directly to ActBlue's infrastructure's reliability, scalability, and performance. As a senior IC on the SRE team, you’ll drive reliability initiatives—designing and implementing robust systems, partnering with engineering teams across the organization, and improving the developer and operational experience through thoughtful automation and clear operational practices.

In Short

• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and observable systems in a cloud-native environment.
• Lead reliability-focused efforts within the team and across the Platform Engineering org.
• Partner with application teams to ensure reliability concerns are considered early.
• Participate in and continuously improve our on-call rotation.
• Contribute to incident response and postmortems.
• Maintain and evolve our Kubernetes-based compute platform.
• Share your expertise through code reviews and documentation.
• Act as a technical mentor to engineers.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in site reliability engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Proficiency with container orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Strong scripting or programming skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
• A collaborative approach to engineering.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and solving complex challenges.
