CDI Query Writer - Remote

Overview

The CDI Query Writer is responsible for facilitating and distributing compliant queries to appropriate providers to obtain optimal quality documentation ensuring proper translation of the medical record and capture the true clinical picture of each patient.

In Short

• Assess clinical indicators and suggestions from MD Reviewer/DRG Integrity Specialist.
• Collaborate to clarify and avoid misinterpretation of queries.
• Create compliant queries according to AHIMA and ACDIS guidelines.
• Utilize ICD-10 coding guidelines and medical terminology.
• Participate in educational opportunities for updates in coding and query writing.
• Use Accuity policies and procedures for documentation support.
• Maintain expected productivity and quality standards.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Foreign Medical Graduate or relevant nursing/health information degree.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of CDI inpatient experience.
• Licensure: MD, DO, CDIP, RN, BSN, CCS, CCDS.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong critical thinking and computer skills.
• Ability to analyze data and work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and use a PC in a Windows environment.
