ABFE is a 501(c)(3) membership-based philanthropic organization dedicated to advocating for responsive and transformative investments in Black communities. Established in 1971 as the Association of Black Foundation Executives, ABFE has evolved into a fully staffed, influential network that partners with foundations, nonprofits, and individuals to enhance the philanthropic sector's connection to issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion. The organization provides its members with professional development and technical assistance resources, and it has been instrumental in advancing diversity within philanthropy. ABFE continues to lead initiatives that support strategic investments in Black communities, reflecting its commitment to social justice and equity.
