Overview

The Manager of Incident Response will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the incident response strategy, managing the incident response team, and ensuring timely and effective responses to security incidents. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

In Short

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive incident response plan.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the incident response team.
  • Oversee detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery processes for security incidents.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with IT, security operations, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Develop and conduct training programs and tabletop exercises.
  • Lead post-incident analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on incident response metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on incident response or threat management.
  • Strong understanding of incident response frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST, SANS).
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM and forensic analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
