Machine Learning / AI Engineer - Remote

Overview

A-TEK is seeking a skilled Machine Learning / AI Engineer to design, develop, and maintain AI/ML models that enhance the processing and interoperability of federal electronic health records (EHR) data.

In Short

• Design and develop AI/ML models for federal EHR data.
• Emphasize FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards.
• Collaborate with OCIO, data governance, and health informatics teams.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FedRAMP High, and FISMA.
• Remote position with occasional travel to McLean, VA.
• Build and deploy ML models for schema mapping and patient record linkage.
• Apply FHIR, OMOP, and HL7 standards for data integration.
• Optimize model performance and document processes for audit readiness.
• 3+ years of hands-on ML/AI model development experience required.
• Salary range: $150,000 – $160,000 annually.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with AWS SageMaker, MLflow, and NLP tools.
• Experience with federal EHR data and compliance requirements.
• Preferred experience with HHS, CMS, FDA, or other federal agencies.
• Certifications in AI/ML or healthcare informatics are a plus.
