Overview

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) in Dialysis is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. This role involves assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, as well as leadership and educational responsibilities.

  • Position is an Area Float covering all clinics in the Nebraska Area.
  • Accountable for patient care and coordination in hemodialysis.
  • Involves working with a healthcare team on patient outcomes.
  • Responsible for ongoing assessment and documentation of patient data.
  • Provides education to patients and families about treatment options.
  • Directs and collaborates with patient care staff for effective therapy delivery.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects and education initiatives.
  • May serve as a mentor or preceptor for new employees.
  • Requires physical capability to assist patients and handle medical equipment.
  • Must maintain state licensure and CPR certification.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
  • Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
  • Ability to perform physical demands of the job.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to quality patient care and safety.
  • Willingness to travel to training sites or other facilities as required.
  • Experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis is preferred.
  • Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment.
