Intellectual Property Attorney - Remote

Overview

4DMT is seeking an experienced intellectual property attorney, with a focus in patent prosecution, to manage 4DMT’s intellectual property portfolio and provide strategic counsel and training on all facets of patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright law.

• Manage 4DMT’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Provide strategic counsel on patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright law.
• Work cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, Business Development, and IT teams.
• Direct outside counsel in patent prosecution and trademark registration.
• Identify strategic areas for patenting and trade secret protection.
• Conduct IP due diligence for business development activities.
• Draft and negotiate agreements to support R&D activities.
• Provide training on intellectual property practices.
• Assist with litigation support and compliance activities.
• Collaborate on key strategic agreements.

Requirements

• JD degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.
• PhD in molecular biology, genetics, or related field.
• 12+ years of patent prosecution experience in life sciences.
• In-house experience in drug development preferred.
• Strong knowledge of patent, trade secret, and trademark practices.
• Experience counseling R&D teams on transactions.
• Experience with data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
