The Radiation Oncology Nurse at Brigham and Women's Hospital provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing radiation treatment, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

In Short

  • Full-time position in Radiation Oncology.
  • Responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Works with both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Requires effective communication and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Must demonstrate clinical expertise and critical thinking skills.
  • Reports to the Radiation Oncology RN Flow Manager.
  • Participates in quality management and improvement programs.
  • Must be registered in Massachusetts with relevant nursing qualifications.
  • Schedule includes four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing school.
  • Current RN registration in Massachusetts.
  • 1-2 years of Oncology experience required.
  • 2 years of Radiation Oncology experience preferred.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under stress and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time and priority management skills.
  • Experience in procedural nursing preferred.
  • Must adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
