Overview

The Physician Assistant (PA) at Massachusetts General Hospital is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, including obstetric patients, through diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of care plans, and ongoing evaluations.

• Work jointly with Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ob/Gyn Academic Specialists.
• Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients.
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop care plans based on diagnostic findings.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate.
• Manage complex medical conditions in postpartum patients.
• Coordinate patient care transitions from inpatient to ambulatory settings.
• Work a full-time schedule, Tuesday to Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required.
• 1-2 years of inpatient experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of OB/GYN experience preferred.
• Licensed Physician Assistant in the state.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Effective communication skills with patients and staff.
• Skilled in emergency response and medical history assessment.
