Overview

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Internal Medicine Practice at Martha's Vineyard Hospital, providing coverage when providers are out of the office.

In Short

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
• Perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
• Monitor the effectiveness of treatments.
• Provide education on medical conditions.
• Manage chronic medical conditions.
• Facilitate appointments to specialists.
• Keep track of preventive medical screenings.
• Counsel patients on healthy lifestyle habits.

Requirements

• Physician Assistant certification.
• Massachusetts license.
• ACLS Certificate.
• MCSR (Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration).
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word).
• EMR experience required.
• Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to adapt to changes in healthcare.
