Overview

The Physical Therapist I will assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities, working at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands Corporation.

In Short

  • Assist patients in physical therapy to restore physical functioning.
  • Administer manual exercises and provide education to patients.
  • Evaluate patient treatment effects and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Complete billing sheets accurately by the end of the day.
  • Participate in quality process improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs).
  • Provide in-service education programs for nursing personnel.
  • Communicate treatment goals with patients and families.
  • Conduct patient assessments and establish care plans.
  • Work as part of a high-performing medical team.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy required.
  • State License as a Physical Therapist is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Experience completing an internship or apprenticeship program.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and guide patients effectively.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
