Overview

The Pathology Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens at Mass General Brigham, contributing to exceptional patient care and research.

• Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens.
• Process specimens by verifying patient information and accessioning samples.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Follow established procedures for specimen handling and storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by laboratory management.
• Work full time, 10am-6:30pm.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a related field preferred or High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
