Overview

The Operator Communications Center at Mass General Brigham is a critical role that provides exemplary service and customer care to callers in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position is onsite at Assembly Row, Somerville, and requires flexibility to work every other weekend and some holidays.

In Short

• Manage incoming and outgoing calls efficiently and courteously.
• Process requests for paging and retrieval of pages.
• Handle confidential patient information with care.
• Respond to various types of calls including emergencies.
• Maintain and update the paging system and telephone directory.
• Escalate unusual problems to the Supervisor.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing speed of 35 wpm.
• Experience in phone-based customer service or call centers.
• Preferred experience in a hospital or medical environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and telephone skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple screens.
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Strong verbal communication abilities.
• Motivated and able to work independently.
