The CT Technologist operates CT equipment to acquire diagnostic images for physicians, ensuring patient care and compliance with safety standards.

In Short

  • Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Ensures proper patient preparation and positioning.
  • Explains procedures to patients while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Calibrates and verifies equipment operation.
  • Executes paperwork and manages Radiology Information System functions.
  • Performs venipuncture for contrast administration.
  • Attends staff meetings and maintains CEUs.
  • May instruct students and oversee personnel.
  • Participates in quality assurance and research programs.
  • Adapts to changing environments and patient needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic technology program.
  • Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
  • ARRT certification or eligibility for CT certification.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred.
  • BLS certification required within one year of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Analytical abilities for imaging processes and techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital imaging and hospital systems.
  • Flexibility to take on diverse roles within the team.
