Engineering Manager, Software Quality & Documentation Services - Remote

Overview

The Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead two teams who are providing testing & documentation services to multiple WMF engineering teams while fostering a culture where Software Quality & Documentation is everyone’s responsibilities.

In Short

• Collaborating with multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align on testing and documentation needs.
• Driving execution–ensuring SLAs are met and key performance metrics are tracked.
• Expanding and refining automated processes and supporting teams in adopting best practices.
• Promoting a mindset of quality and documentation-first practices across the engineering teams.
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test suites and technical documentation.
• Coaching your team, conducting performance reviews, and providing career guidance.
• Ensuring both teams are engaged and productive.

Requirements

• Several years of engineering experience in a technical management or leadership role.
• Hands-on experience developing software applications using languages such as Go, Python, PHP.
• Proven track record of managing a team that provides critical centralized services.
• Experience managing diverse teams with varying goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Prior success in working with a multicultural, remote, and distributed team.
