Senior Production Cost Modeling Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Senior Reliability Assessments Engineer promotes BPS reliability by leading and performing interconnection-wide reliability assessments through complex analysis using sophisticated resource adequacy and/or production cost models.

In Short

• Propose, lead, and conduct WECC/NERC reliability assessments.
• Apply deterministic and/or probabilistic resource adequacy, production cost and related model types.
• Provide technical leadership and partnership with industry groups.
• Identify the need for new software tools and processes.
• Deliver clear presentations to various audiences.
• Support and provide technical leadership to committees and task forces.
• Engage stakeholders to assess reliability challenges.
• Provide technical expertise for other WECC activities.
• Work with colleagues to plan reliability assessments.
• Mentor other engineers and analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
• At least eight years of experience in the power industry.
• History of identifying reliability risks.
• Advanced expertise in modeling tools such as Astrape SERVM, Energy Exemplar Plexos.
• Strong understanding of reliability risks to the BPS.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High levels of self-motivation and initiative.
• Desire to act as a knowledge leader.
