Senior Manager, Underwriting - Remote

Overview

The Senior Manager, Underwriting will lead Wellvana’s underwriting strategy and execution to optimize performance within CMS/CMMI ACO models. This role oversees the development of tools, methodologies, and assumptions that drive accurate risk assessment and financial projections, while ensuring alignment across Finance, Actuarial, and key business teams.

• Lead the underwriting function strategy across current and prospective clients in CMS ACO models.
• Coordinate and lead regular cross-function forums between actuarial and underwriting team members.
• Develop enterprise tools based on stakeholder requirements.
• Collaborate with Actuarial leadership to establish assumption governance.
• Manage and test assumptions for tools and models.
• Participate in supporting innovative ad-hoc underwriting requests.
• Lead validation study design and complete studies on underwriting modeling.
• Innovate methodologies using AI/ML techniques.
• Develop material and lead education sessions on underwriting process.
• Identify barriers and recommend investments to improve underwriting process.

Requirements

• Integrity and dependability are essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field; MBA preferred.
• 6-8 years of underwriting experience with 3 years in CMS/CMMI ACO underwriting.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand regulatory guidance and implement it.
