VP Accounting & Tax - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Director/VP of Accounting & Tax. This crucial role will report directly to the Group CFO and will be responsible for all group-wide accounting and tax matters.

In Short

• Report to and collaborate with the Group CFO; lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and tax teams.
• Develop the strategy for and scale the accounting & tax function.
• Drive team engagement and scalability through target and KPI settings.
• Oversee general and sub-ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Optimize closing cycles through continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies across entities.
• Maintain group-wide tax compliance, ensuring timely filings.
• Manage external tax consultants and support international tax compliance.
• Experience with the introduction of ERP systems is preferred.
• Fluency in German and English is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in accounting.
• Strategic thinker, hands-on, driven by innovation and compliance.
• Nice-to-have: certified tax advisor and/or auditor.
• Experience advising C-level executives and boards.
• High business acumen and tech-savviness.
