Overview

The GRAF Research Technical Assistant supports the Animal Resources Center by performing routine laboratory duties and assisting with research projects under supervision.

• Independently implements requests for the GRAF facility.
• Performs basic laboratory techniques and microbiology testing.
• Prepares materials for experiments and ensures facility cleanliness.
• Assists with ordering unit supplies and documentation of activities.
• Works under direct supervision of senior staff.
• Handles multiple tasks and meets deadlines.
• Demonstrates basic mechanical skills.
• Complies with regulatory policies and procedures.
• Engages in a standing and active role within the laboratory.
• Contributes to research activities and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Vocational training or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Under 2 years of work experience in a relevant job discipline.
• High School Diploma preferred; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Experience in academic, biomedical, or veterinary settings is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented and organized with a respect for confidentiality.
• Basic mechanical skills required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
