Overview

The Assistant Director, Events and Communications supports the dissemination of the work of the Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence and the Tolan Center for Healthcare through events and communications.

In Short

  • Develops and implements communications strategies.
  • Creates and manages communications plans and content calendars.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes events for various audiences.
  • Manages financial and logistical aspects of events.
  • Tracks and reports event analytics for future programming.
  • Writes, edits, and publishes content for promotion.
  • Collaborates with various Booth departments for content distribution.
  • Mentors interns or junior staff.
  • Accomplishes duties through various communication formats.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum college or university degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Experience in event planning and communications/marketing preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Professional demeanor and customer-service orientation.
