Overview

The Registered Specialty Nurse - Trauma is an experienced nurse responsible for advanced clinical trauma nursing duties, including patient care evaluation and compliance with performance improvement metrics.

In Short

  • Position involves advanced clinical knowledge and trauma patient care.
  • Responsible for chart abstraction and evaluation of clinical patient care.
  • Works under the supervision of the Trauma Program Director.
  • Participates in data collection and patient care rounds.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination with the trauma team.
  • Provides trauma education to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Monitors compliance with clinical practice guidelines.
  • Participates in operational and peer review committees.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular full-time position with day shifts.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Registered RN license in Arkansas.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC/ATCN) Instructor preferred.
  • BSN preferred; 5 years of trauma experience preferred.
  • Trauma-related performance improvement experience.
  • Certification specific to trauma patient population preferred.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • Effective communication and mentoring skills.
