Neurosciences Patient Care Technician - Remote

Overview

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in supporting patient care in the Neuroscience Clinics at UAMS, working under the supervision of registered nurses and contributing to a team-oriented environment focused on patient well-being.

In Short

• Perform patient care tasks that do not require a license.
• Support the delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding patient care.
• Document patient care activities and vital signs accurately.
• Assist patients with grooming, hygiene, and comfort measures.
• Follow directions from registered nurses and team leaders.
• Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments.
• Work collaboratively within the Nursing Department standards.
• Provide information and support to patients and visitors.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of a patient care technician course within 3 months of hire.
• Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Preferred: Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.
• Preferred: Patient care experience in acute or outpatient settings.
