Overview

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer will work as a Perinatal Sonographer at the Women's Center, performing detailed OB ultrasound imaging and Gyn ultrasound studies.

In Short

  • Perform detailed first trimester OB ultrasound imaging.
  • Conduct Gyn ultrasound studies (transabdominal and transvaginal).
  • Maintain sonographic and other equipment in efficient operating order.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals to inform findings.
  • Assist in procedures such as amniocentesis.
  • Participate in educational opportunities for personal and team growth.
  • Maintain patient privacy and a clean work area.
  • Meet all institutional training and continuing education requirements.
  • Work independently and engage in critical thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.
  • ARDMS (OB) registered or registry eligible.
  • BLS certification within 31 days of hire.
  • 2 years of experience in OB/GYN preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others as a team member.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Commitment to patient care and safety.
  • Willingness to assist with scheduling and troubleshooting.
