Telemetry Technician 1 - Remote

Overview

The Telemetry Technician provides indirect patient care by monitoring the Telemetry of patients with continuous cardiac monitoring as ordered by the physician.

In Short

• Monitors cardiac rhythms continuously during the shift.
• Recognizes and reports dysrhythmias to staff.
• Records monitor strips every 4 hours.
• Documents PR interval, rate, and rhythm on recorded strips.
• Ensures telemetry monitor alarms are always active.
• Retrieves rhythms stored in memory upon request.
• Oversees supply inventory and reports malfunctioning equipment.
• Complies with employee code of ethics and standards of behavior.
• Adheres to University policies and procedures.
• May perform additional duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of EKG certification program.
• Valid AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
