Lead Mainframe Storage Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Lead Mainframe Storage Engineer will be responsible for enterprise-level expertise in mainframe hardware and software, focusing on installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

• Lead Infrastructure Engineer on the Mainframe Engineering Team.
• Responsible for IBM DS8000 Storage Arrays and TS7700 Virtual Tape Systems.
• Manage mainframe system backups and maintenance.
• Engage in problem tracking, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate status of issue resolution to internal customers.
• Lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger initiatives.
• May manage outside vendors and mentor less experienced teammates.
• Availability for after-hours support and on-call rotation.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
• Banking or financial services experience preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support.
• In-depth knowledge in information systems and best practices.
• Ability to plan and manage projects effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor and provide direction to teammates.
• Understanding of key business processes related to IT.
• Experience with mainframe hardware and software.
• Knowledge of IBM DS8000 Hardware Mapping and Configuration.
• Experience in dataset encryption preferred.
• Experience with GDPS administration is a plus.
