Overview

Treantly is a Canadian-based recruitment agency that facilitates the connection between businesses in North America and exceptional remote staff in the Philippines.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team. This role requires an experienced professional who can hit the ground running with minimal training on bookkeeping fundamentals. The ideal candidate must have extensive bookkeeping experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and an assertive personality to effectively collaborate with internal team members and external clients when necessary.

In Short

  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Process invoices, credits, and reconcile AR invoicing against AP invoices.
  • Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and ensure accurate financial records across all business units.
  • Vendor & Client Communication: Proactively reach out to internal teams for issue resolution and external clients for receivables collections (minimal requirement).
  • Expense Management: Manage invoices, track expenses, and oversee purchase orders.
  • Collaboration with Financial Partners: Work closely with Horizon’s outsourced Financial Management partner to ensure alignment with established workflow processes.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including filing, scheduling, and ordering office supplies.
  • Other Bookkeeping Tasks: Support the team with various ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Asset: Experience with ConnectWise is a plus.
  • Skills Required: Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written English communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organization.
  • Assertive personality, capable of taking initiative and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
