Staff Security Engineer - Remote

As a Staff Security Engineer, you will support our Head of Security Engineering drive security initiatives strategies all while continuing to push security to the forefront of Thirty Madison! We put our patients first, and at the core of that is providing them extraordinary safety, security and privacy. In Short

• Act as a hands-on subject matter expert (SME) for the Detection and Response program.
• Design and implement scalable solutions to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Conduct research on emerging threats impacting applications and infrastructure.
• Strengthen defense-in-depth strategies by developing secure frameworks.
• Provide mentorship and share security best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security efforts with business objectives.
• Lead investigations and remediation of security incidents.
• Demonstrate strong leadership under pressure.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in security incident response and detection engineering.
• Ability to partner closely with the Head of Security to drive security initiatives.
• Experience adopting an automation-driven approach to implement security controls.
• Strong skills in threat modeling and identifying security risks.
• Establish and track key KPIs for the security program.
• Leadership experience in designing and executing security control strategies.
• Exceptional collaboration skills with diverse teams.
• A proactive mindset with a strong drive to take ownership of issues.
• A passion for educating and evangelizing security best practices.
• Several years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
• Experience deploying and securing cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure management.

• The base pay range for this position is $184,000 - $253,000 per year.
