Overview

The role of the computational linguist is to help develop and improve our client’s NLP/NLU systems by defining and delivering data annotation pipelines, annotation guidelines, golden datasets, training datasets, evaluation criteria, process improvements, and upskilling programs.

In Short

  • Help build out NLU workflows and workstreams.
  • Work on language modeling and evaluation training sets.
  • Analyze product features and tweak rules engine.
  • Triage multimodal features and chatbot experiences.
  • Annotate and review linguistic data.
  • Collect data and perform data analysis.
  • Label text for disambiguation and normalization.
  • Evaluate system outputs and provide solutions.
  • Perform translation and localization tasks.
  • Create and evaluate training and test sets.

Requirements

  • Native speaker of the target language and fluent in English.
  • Experience in using, adapting, and creating scripts in Python.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Experience in annotation work.
  • Knowledge of semantics, syntax, morphology, or lexicography.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence.
