Accounting Clerk - Remote

Overview

The Accounting Clerk will perform clerical accounting tasks and assist in the financial operations of the university, contributing to the enhancement of the student experience.

• Perform accounting clerical assistance and pre-audit accounting documents.
• Monitor vendor inquiries and provide prompt responses.
• Process invoice vouchers using a 3-way match process.
• Supervise part-time student employees.
• Handle cash and deposit vouchers while ensuring compliance.
• Maintain electronic records in accordance with university policies.
• Resolve invoicing issues with vendors professionally.
• Create and update written procedures for tasks.
• Act as a backup for coworkers when needed.
• Other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
• Two years of work experience with administrative responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Experience with electronic accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy.
• Experience with accounts receivable and cash handling.
• Professional demeanor required.
