Avian Survey Research Technician - Remote

Overview

The Avian Survey Research Technician will collect avian field data and vegetation surveys to support a project focused on the management and restoration of fragmented forest habitats for birds in Ohio.

• Conduct avian point count surveys across various sites in Ohio.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage and enter field data post-collection.
• Drive between survey sites and stay overnight as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Excellent visual and aural avian identification skills.
• 1-2 years of experience in avian-focused fieldwork is desirable.
• Basic experience with data entry and Excel.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
• Good level of physical fitness for fieldwork.
