Senior PHP Developer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior PHP Developer at Temper, you’ll help evolve our new Symfony platform, the backend for our iOS, Android and web (SPA) apps. You’ll drive core backend features, scale our infrastructure for peak loads, and mentor fellow engineers, all while enjoying the freedom, ownership, and learning culture that define Temper.

In Short

• Architect, build, and maintain features using Symfony and migrate from Laravel.
• Design scalable schemas in PostgreSQL and Redis caching.
• Define and troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with SREs to monitor and improve application performance using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Implement robust event-driven workflows using Google Pub/Sub.
• Champion clean, maintainable code and mentor teammates through thoughtful PR reviews.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Data teams to create elegant solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional PHP (7.x/8.x) development.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
• Expertise in modern backend frameworks (like Symfony).
• Proven experience with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and Helm.
• Solid grasp of Pub/Sub paradigms using Redis and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, especially Prometheus and Grafana.
