Overview

Telespazio Belgium is seeking a highly skilled Opto-Electronics Engineer to work in ESTEC, Netherlands, contributing to major Space programs for the European Space Agency.

In Short

• Design and establish performance budgets for optical and quantum communication setups.
• Procure and commission technical parts for laboratory setups.
• Assemble and maintain opto-electronic test setups.
• Program laboratory hardware control using Matlab, Simulink, or Python.
• Conduct optical tests in the laboratory on related components and systems.
• Provide technical support for ESA projects.
• Support development of opto-electronic technologies.
• Define and follow up on test and calibration activities.
• Evaluate procurement proposals.

Requirements

• Master's in optoelectronics engineering, physics, or relevant discipline; PhD is an asset.
• Experience in design and testing of opto-electronic systems.
• System experience with fibre-optic components in spacecraft engineering.
• Experience with high-power pulsed laser systems and complex optical setups.
