Senior Lead, Ecological Restoration & Reclamation (Contract) - Remote

Overview

The Sr. Lead, Ecological Restoration & Reclamation is responsible for providing technical expertise in planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting for reclamation and restoration activities at Teck Legacy Properties. This contract position focuses on managing complex restoration projects while ensuring environmental stewardship and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Contract position with a term of two years and possibility for extension.
• Provide senior technical guidance on reclamation and ecological restoration.
• Develop and oversee a risk-based framework for ecological restoration.
• Lead invasive species management and wildfire resilience programs.
• Direct terrestrial ecosystem mapping for restoration activities.
• Develop wildlife monitoring and mitigation plans.
• Implement revegetation plans and oversee performance monitoring.
• Manage external environmental consultants and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
• Travel anticipated to be about 25% between April to October.

Requirements

• Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., RPF, RPBio) required.
• Minimum ten years’ experience in environmental management or related fields.
• Experience with British Columbia’s environmental legislation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
• Technical knowledge of industry practices is an asset.
• BC Mines Supervisor Certification is an asset.
