Reverse Mortgage Underwriter - Remote

Overview

The HECM (Reverse) Underwriter position underwrites residential loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company, secondary market Investor standards, and all applicable laws. Examines loan documentation for accuracy and completeness. Partners with Loan Originators, Branch Managers and Processors to secure all required documents.

• Interacts with Quality Control and Compliance
• Develops knowledge of HECM product guidelines
• Reworks loans to new terms as needed
• Reviews borrower profiles and documentation
• Demonstrates proficiency in manual underwriting
• Maintains knowledge of secondary market activity
• Communicates with loan originators and management
• Experience with MS Office products required

Requirements

• 3+ years of Residential Loan underwriting experience
• DE certification and FHA underwriting experience preferred
• Knowledge of FHA/HECM policies and procedures
• Knowledge of fraud tools
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience managing relationships with partners
• Mortgage processing experience preferred
• Experience with repurchase response preparation
• Experience in reporting and analyzing data
