Head of Integration Engineering - Remote

Overview

The Head of Integration Engineering will own the strategy, design, and execution of all platform integrations that connect Sully.ai’s AI medical employees with major EHRs, partner APIs, and healthcare data standards. This role involves building and scaling a high-performing team, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring integrations are robust, secure, HIPAA compliant, and well-received by customers.

• Define and drive a unified integrations strategy across FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and custom partner APIs.
• Lead design and development of core connectors for major EHRs.
• Establish CI/CD, observability, SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and self-healing for services.
• Build SDKs, developer documentation, and sample apps.
• Recruit and mentor an engineering team focused on integrations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Audit current integrations and define SLAs.
• Ship an SDK and sample app MVP for partner onboarding.
• Deliver new EHR connectors and improve integration reliability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including team management in startups.
• Deep experience with integrations and healthcare data standards.
• Strong system design skills including microservices and REST.
• Hands-on coding experience in Python, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• CI/CD and cloud expertise, familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ML, AI, and LLMs.
