Overview

The Maine Department of Marine Resources, Maine Coastal Program (MCP) is seeking a qualified candidate for a limited period Marine Resource Management Coordinator position focused on protection, adaptation, and expansion of Working Waterfront access. This position will be located in our Augusta office with teleworking options available.

In Short

  • Coordinate state initiatives for working waterfronts as part of Resilient Maine.
  • Develop and implement policy, tools, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Collaborate with multi-sector partners for future working waterfront needs.
  • Advise on waterfront investments through the Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund.
  • Facilitate large and diverse groups to reach consensus.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct meetings and deal with contentious issues.
  • Support marine resource-dependent communities.
  • Engage in technical support for coastal communities.
  • Focus on marine conservation projects.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in marine resource and aquaculture program management.
  • Experience in coastal land use planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and writing skills.
  • Leadership experience with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
