Overview

As the Principal Engineer for BESS, you will be our chief technical authority on the technology, procurement, and strategic application of utility-scale energy storage.

In Short

Lead technical expert on grid-scale BESS.
Advise on energy storage portfolio design and operation.
Develop long-term energy storage technology roadmap.
Manage competitive sourcing for BESS equipment and services.
Negotiate high-value contracts for BESS projects.
Establish technical standards for project compliance.
Review interconnection applications for BESS projects.
Ensure safety compliance in designs and operations.
Build relationships with suppliers and contractors.
Support regulatory filings and project justifications.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
5+ years of project development engineering experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Proficiency with battery energy storage systems.
Experience with utility distribution systems.
Understanding of BESS-specific codes and standards.
Experience with utility SCADA systems.
Familiarity with Solar PV and microgrid projects.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
