Overview

SEARCH has an immediate opening for temporary (Full-Time project hires) Archaeologists to join our Terrestrial Archaeology division. Selected candidates must be Secretary of the Interior Qualified in Archaeology.

In Short

  • Conduct archaeological monitoring, survey, testing, and excavation.
  • Evaluate and record accurate field notes and documentation.
  • Collect and inventory artifacts and samples.
  • Identify potential human and faunal remains.
  • Perform quality control of field data.
  • Use electronic and traditional navigational equipment.
  • Photo-document various archaeological features and findings.
  • Procure and maintain field equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate with landowners and regulatory agency staff.
  • Travel for extended periods of time.

Requirements

  • Must be Secretary of the Interior Qualified in Archaeology.
  • Experience in archaeological fieldwork.
  • Ability to evaluate and document cultural resources.
  • Familiarity with GPS and other navigational tools.
  • Strong organizational skills for field documentation.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods.
  • Commitment to health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams.
