Lead AI/ML Forecast Engineer - Remote

Overview

As the Lead AI/ML Forecast Engineer at Sorcerer, you’ll be expected to implement, troubleshoot, and deploy weather models utilizing a combination of AI/ML tooling and traditional NWP (Numerical Weather Prediction).

In Short

• Develop custom weather forecasting models
• End-to-end ownership including deployment on cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with product team to develop innovative forecasting solutions
• Integrate with data assimilation systems to utilize balloon data and other observations
• Test and validate accuracy of weather models against real world data/observations
• Procure training data for training AI weather forecast models

Requirements

• 6+ years of AI/ML experience
• Experience developing open source weather models (GraphCast, Aurora, etc.)
• Experience operationalizing weather forecast models
• Experience with multi-dimensional data formats (Zarr, NetCDF, GRIB)
