Mid-Level Graphic Designer - Remote

Overview

Smalls is looking for a cat-loving, detail-obsessed mid-level Graphic Designer to join our creative team and help bring our brand to life across digital and print touchpoints. This role is perfect for a designer who's ready to level up their skills while working on everything from social content to packaging design to campaigns in our cat-first world. You'll collaborate closely with our Senior Designer and Creative Director to execute compelling visual assets that capture the authentic, uncompromising spirit of cats and resonate with fellow cat parents. As part of our creative team, you'll have the opportunity to work across multiple channels and mediums while contributing to the visual storytelling that drives our business forward.

In Short

• Execute and assist in digital and print design assets across social media, email, web, packaging, and advertising campaigns under creative direction
• Create social content for organic and paid channels, with a focus on platform-specific formats and trends
• Support motion graphics and video editing projects for social media and digital advertising
• Collaborate with copywriters and creative leads to bring integrated campaign concepts to visual life
• Maintain brand consistency across all touch points while finding creative ways to keep our visual identity fresh and engaging
• Design email templates, web assets, and digital marketing materials that drive engagement and conversion
• Assist Senior Designer on larger projects including packaging design, 360 campaigns, and brand initiatives
• Stay current on design trends, social platform updates, and competitor creative to inform design decisions
• Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions and provide design perspective on campaign strategy
• Prepare and organize design files for production, ensuring technical specifications are met across mediums
• Support broader organizational design needs including presentations, internal communications, and partnership materials

Requirements

• You have 2-4 years of graphic design experience, preferably with a brand team or agency working on consumer brands
• You have a strong portfolio showcasing social media design, digital marketing assets, and brand consistency across projects
• You are proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and basic motion graphics/video editing
• You possess an understanding of social media platforms, their design requirements, and what performs well in each environment
• You're able to work within established brand guidelines while bringing fresh creative ideas to the table
• You exhibit a strong attention to detail and a commitment to pixel-perfect execution
• You have excellent communication skills and openness to feedback in a collaborative creative environment
• You are self-motivated with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
• You're passionate about cats, pet wellness, and the Smalls mission (cat parent status highly preferred!)
