Overview

SkyBox Labs is a game development studio recognized as one of BC's Top Employers (2025), co-developing iconic games like Halo Infinite and Destiny 2. They are looking for a Senior Environment Artist to contribute to immersive worlds.

In Short

• Work closely with designers and artists to craft immersive game spaces.
• Build world layouts using organic and hard surface elements.
• Own your space from ideation to fully realized environments.
• Refine level layouts and environmental storytelling directly in-engine.
• Optimize within a proprietary pipeline to meet performance goals.
• Collaborate with level designers to enhance player experience.

Requirements

• Extensive world-building experience in a game engine.
• Strong level art and design sensibilities.
• Expert proficiency in 3ds Max or Maya.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Organized and adaptable with strong time management skills.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to learn new tools.
• A portfolio showcasing environmental storytelling and creativity.
• Nice-to-Haves: Understanding of lighting, FX, or other disciplines.
• Asset modeling experience.
• Familiarity with Perforce, Jira, and Shotgrid.
